As part of its corporate social responsibility, Beharry Restaurant Holdings Inc., through KFC Guyana, has made a solid contribution to the Guyana Karate College to assist in the completion of its Dojo at Liliendaal.

At a simple handing over of a cheque valued G$1.5 million, the importance of such partnerships was highlighted, with the Karate College expressing gratitude for the timely support.

Master Frank Woon-A-Tai, who was recently promoted to 10th Dan, the highest rank by the International Karate Daigaku, has been leading efforts to have the Dojo functional.

When completed, the facility is expected to serve as the South American Headquarters for the International Karate Daigaku, Master Frank pointed out during a recent interview with the News Room.

The Dojo at Liliendaal, he added, has been a massive financial undertaking, with the Guyana Karate College raising between over G$35 million on its own.

It is for this reason the contribution by KFC Guyana is seen as significant, as it will help the College to meet its budget to complete the facility in the not too distant future.

Marketing Officer of Beharry Restaurant Holdings Inc., Pamella Manasseh, said the contribution by KFC Guyana is another demonstration of its commitment to sport, and by extension young people.

Dr. Guy Low of the Guyana Karate College commenced the company for coming onboard, noting that its benevolence is welcomed by the fraternity.
