A total of 291 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Thursday, increasing Guyana’s total confirmed cases to 60,676, the Ministry of Health reported.
Those new cases were recorded from 1,295 tests.
The cases emerged from: Region One (39 cases), Region Two (30 cases), Region Three (28 cases), Region Four (87 cases), Region Five (10 cases), Region Six (30 cases), Region Seven (one case), Region Nine (62 cases) and Region 10 (four cases).
There are also 11 patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 132 people are in institutional isolation, 15 people are in institutional quarantine and 5,768 people are in home isolation.
Importantly, a total of 53,600 people have recovered after they were infected with the disease. Guyana’s death toll remains at 1,176.
