Police in Regional Division Seven(Cuyuni-Mazaruni) have arrested a man for reportedly raping a 17-year-old girl on Friday.
Police Headquarters reported that the teen and the suspect are known to each other.
“It is alleged that the suspect visited the victim’s home when she was alone and forcefully committed the act against her consent,” police said.
The teen was reportedly knocked unconscious during the act. After regaining consciousness she raised an alarm.
A police report was made and the suspect was arrested.
