Two busted with over $4.5M worth in ganja at #51 village

Ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Monday arrested two men in connection with the discovery of 15.104 kg (33.3 lb.) of cannabis at #51 Village, Corentyne Berbice.

A press release from CANU noted that the illegal drugs have a street value of approximately $4.54 million.

Those in custody are 37-year-old Michael Embrack of Fort Ordinance, East Canje, Berbice and Randolph Job, of #51 village, Corentyne.

According to the CANU release, ranks were conducting operations in the area when they intercepted a car with the two male occupants and discovered several parcels of suspected cannabis.

The men were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics which was tested and proven to be cannabis. Investigations are ongoing.
