Father of three killed during fight with man

A 40-year-old man of Hardina Street, Georgetown, was killed after he was involved in a fight with another man on Tuesday night. Dead is Aubrey Baird, a father of three and a clothes vendor.

Baird was stabbed during the fight and according to his wife, Devon Grandison he was hardworking and did not have any problems with anyone.

The News Room understands that Baird had just returned home from work and was liming with friends and relatives outside of his house. The incident occurred at about 21:00hrs.

“I won’t be able to say much because he was downstairs and I was in the room lying down cause since he come in, he deh downstairs liming with he friends.

“They said the man pass and by they laughing, he mussy feel offended or something and he started throwing words at Aubrey and Aubrey throwback words at he,” the grieving woman said.

The two then got into a fight when Baird was stabbed. The wife said she does not know the suspect or what her husband was stabbed with.

The couple has been together for 23 years and according to the wife, her husband has been vending since he was a young boy.

“He was a loving person. He worked hard for what he want,” the tearful woman told the News Room.

The woman said the loss is unimaginable since her husband was the breadwinner for the family.

The Guyana Police Force is yet to release details surrounding the incident.
