160 new COVID cases recorded; 17 in ICU

Guyana recorded 160 new COVID-19 infections within 24hours from a total of 1, 301 tests. This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to date to 62, 061.
The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region One (13 cases), Region Two (11 cases), Region Three (eight cases), Region Four (53 cases), Region Five (seven cases), Region Six (14 cases), Region Seven (five cases), Region Eight (one case) and Region Nine (48 cases).
There are now 17 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 89 patients are in institutional isolation and 3, 038 are in home isolation.
To date, 57, 729 people have recovered from the virus and a total of 1,188 people died since the start of the pandemic in March, 2020.
