Guyana Harpy Eagles have gotten their Regional Four-Day campaign off to a winning start after a tense one-wicket victory over Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad, on Saturday.
Set 203 for victory, Eagles were cruising at 89 without loss compliments of a fluent 60 (7x4s; 2x6s from 72 balls) from Chandrapaul Hemraj and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (28).

The seasoned Veerasammy Permaul, who took 5-53 to set up the match for the Eagles, had to play a steady hand with an unbeaten knock of 20 which got the Eagles to the target in the final moments of the day’s play.
Vishaul Singh (24) back up his first-innings 93 while Leon Johnson (21) and Clinton Pestano (20) also made handy contributions.
