    COVID: Three more die, 95 new cases, 7 in ICU

    Three more persons have died from the dreaded COVID-19 virus, increasing Guyana’s overall death toll to 1,199, the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday

    The latest victims are:

    – an unvaccinated 69-year-old man of Region Six who died on February 12

    – a 55-year-old woman of Region Three who died on February 14 (vaccination status unknown)

    – a 54-year-old man of Region Four who also died on February 14 (vaccination status unknown)

    Those deaths have now increased February’s death toll to 28.

    Meanwhile, 95 new infections were recorded from 1,960 tests, increasing the country’s overall confirmed cases to 62,360.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (19 cases), Region Two (eight cases), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (25 cases), Region Five (one case), Region Six (six cases), Region Seven (one case), Region Eight (18 cases), Region Nine (10 cases) and Region 10 (two cases).

    There are seven patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 83 people are in institutional isolation and 1,289 are in home isolation.

    To date, 59, 782 have recovered from the virus.
