The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has congratulated national cricketers Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd and Sherfane Rutherford, who were drafted over the weekend at the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.

Hetmyer, who has previously represented Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals, was snapped up by Rajasthan Royals for approximately USD$1,133,000.

He is presently representing Guyana Harpy Eagles in round two of the Regional Four-Day Championship in Trinidad.

Shepherd, who is in India on West Indies duties, got this maiden IPL gig for a price tag of approximately USD$1,033,000 with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Additionally, Rutherford, a title winner with St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots at last year’s Caribbean Premier League, returns to the IPL, but this time, with RCB for approximately USD$133,000.

“The GCB wishes Hetmyer, Shepherd and Rutherford well as they continue to make Guyana and West Indies proud”, the release stated.
