Cop under close arrest for allegedly assaulting man with a disability
A Police Constable stationed in Orinduik, Region Eight is under close arrest for reportedly assaulting a man with a disability.
Police Headquarters late Wednesday stated that the incident is being investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility. The incident occurred on February 10.
The News Room understands that Giles Henry, 35, of Kurukabaru, Region Eight is deaf; he cannot speak and is visually impaired. Henry earns a living by walking and selling and on February 10, the police constable reportedly called out to him but he did not respond.
As a result, he was beaten and locked up by the cop.
“The resident has visible signs of injuries and has received medical assistance from a Medex,” police reported.
