Three men, who were all unvaccinated, have died from the dreaded COVID-19 virus, increasing Guyana’s overall death toll to 1,202, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.
The latest victims are a 38-year-old from Region One and a 68-year-old from Region Four who both died on February 15 while a 75-year-old from Region Six died on February 16.
The death toll for February has increased to 31.
Meanwhile, 105 new infections were recorded from 1,828 tests, increasing the country’s overall confirmed cases to 62,465.
The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (six cases), Region Two (18 cases), Region Three (nine cases), Region Four (42 cases), Region Five (two case), Region Six (10 cases), and Region Nine (18 cases).
There are eight patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 81 people are in institutional isolation and 1,084 are in home isolation.
To date, 60,090 have recovered from the virus.
