Cops hunting man who raped girl, 16

Police in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are currently investigating a report of an alleged rape committed on a 16-year-old female student.

The alleged rape occurred on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at about 20:00hrs at the victim’s home.

Enquiries disclosed that the suspect and the victim are known to each other via the social media platform, Facebook. The suspect reportedly showed up at the victim’s house and as soon as she opened the door, he pushed her inside and forcefully committed the act. The victim was home alone at the time.

Police are presently looking for the suspect as investigations continue.
