Police ranks on the East Bank of Demerara have arrested the suspect in the fatal stabbing of Venezuelan national, 29-year-old Yocter Eduardo Gonzalez.
Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred at the Raghoo Sports Bar at the junction of the Soesdyke/Linden Highway on February 19.
According to reports, Gonzalez, his brother and some friends were at the bar when the suspect approached him and an altercation ensued, during which he was stabbed to his right-side chest.
Police said the suspect escaped from the scene but quick response by ranks led to him being arrested.
Gonzalez was stabbed at about 21:50hrs and died at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre at about 12:35hrs.
