Bids open for design of 8-storey Brickdam Police Station

Building consultants are being invited to design the eight-storey Brickdam Police Station.

On October 2, 2021, over 80 per cent of the century-old buildings were destroyed during a massive fire.

The Ministry of Home Affairs in a statement on Tuesday said sealed bids are now open to undertake and complete Consultancy Services for the design of the new police station.

Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the Procurement Act 2003 and is open to all Bidders.

Bidders are required to submit Technical and Financial Proposals which must cover travelling expenses and reimbursements.

Interested eligible bidders may inspect the Bidding Document and obtain further information from the Finance Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Lot 6 Brickdam Stabroek, Georgetown, telephone No. 226-2444/226-1717 between 08:30 hours and 15:30 hours, Monday to Friday.

Bidding documents (in English) can be purchased from the Finance Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Lot 6 Stabroek, Georgetown upon payment of a non- refundable fee of GY$3, 500. The method of payment shall be in cash.

Bids shall be submitted in a plain sealed envelope bearing no identity of the Consultant. Each envelope should state clearly the name of the project (for example, ‘Tender for Design Service for the Construction of Brickdam Police Station – 8 Storey) at the top left-hand corner.

Bids must be submitted with the following:

➢ A valid Compliance Certificate from the Commissioner General of Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA)

➢ A valid Compliance Certificate from the General Manager -National insurance Scheme (NIS)

The envelopes can be deposited in the Tender Box at the above address no later than 09:00 hours on Tuesday, 15th March 2022. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected.

Bids will be opened at 09:00 hours on Tuesday 15th March 2022 in the Boardroom of the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board, Ministry of Finance in the presence of those Bidders or their representatives who choose to attend the opening.

The Ministry of Home Affairs reserves the right to reject any or all the Bids without assigning any reason.

Note: Technical Proposals will be opened first. Financial Proposals will be opened after the evaluation of the Technical Proposals. However, both Technical and Financial proposals must be submitted on the opening date mentioned above.
