Both officials have made a call for good corporate and commercial citizens, as well as residents on the ECD to be involved in the initiative during a meeting at the Better Hope Community Centre ground on February 23 with community volunteer groups.

The Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) is leading the way in this regard as it is partnering with the organisers and several Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDCs) along the East Coast of Demerara.

“At the meeting, Ms. Molly Hassan, Chief Executive Officer of GUYOIL, along with her staff handed over cleaning supplies and tools to groups which will be leading the exercise in various locations from Vereeniging to Industry on the East Coast of Demerara. She noted that GUYOIL is committed to supporting the nationwide clean-up campaign, which is an initiative by His Excellency, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali,” a release from the office of the Attorney General noted.
