Eleven-year-old Jasmine Billingy continues to excel way beyond her years, as she mopped up all the individual titles she contested at the Mashramani Table Tennis Tournament.

At the recent Junior National Championship, Billingy won the Under-15, Under-19 and Under-21 titles. At the weekend, she dominated the Mashramani tournament organised by the Guyana Table Tennis Association and the National Sports Commission.

With most of the senior players sitting out, Billingy annihilated the competition, winning the Under-13, Under-15 and Under-19 categories, as well as the Women’s Open Singles.

She defeated her age group rival, Samara Sukhai 3-1 (11-8, 9-11, 11-7 and 11-5) and Akira Watson 3-0 (13-11, 11-5, 11-6) in the round-robin format for the Women’s title.

It was a similar situation for her other three titles.

In the male division, Shemar Britton, who finished as runner-up to Christopher Franklin at the National Championshipc a few weeks ago, was able to triumph in the Men’s Singles.

Orin Hickerson won the ‘B’ Class Open, while the ever-impressive Jonathan Van Lange won the Under-19 division as he did at the Nationals.

The Under-13 division was won by Malachi Moore with Ebo McNeil finishing second, while Colin Wong won the Under-15 division ahead of McNeil.

In Sunday’s Under-19 final, Van Lange defeated Niran Bissu 3-0 (11-8, 11-2 and 11-5).

Some of the players are now in Cuba for the Senior Caribbean Championship, while the Juniors will remain in training for the Junior Caribbean Championship in the Dominican Republic from May 6-11.
