Police have arrested an armed man who attempted to break into the house of a 46-year-old woman at Buxton on the East Coast of Demerara shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Police Headquarters reported that ranks responded to a domestic violence report at around 00:30hrs; they found the 39-year-old male with a revolver in the waist of his pants while he carried a cutlass and small axe in his hands.
According to the police, the suspect had earlier violently threatened the complainant and attempted to enter her premises by breaking windows.
He was injured during the process of breaking said windows and as a result, he was arrested and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he is under guard and being treated for a fractured skull.
