Region 4 woman dies from COVID, 31 news cases

A 64-year-old woman of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who died on March 2 has been recorded as Guyana’s latest COVID-19 death. The Ministry of Health reported that the woman was unvaccinated.

Her death has increased Guyana’s overall death toll to 1, 223. Now, three persons have died in March.

Meanwhile, 31 new infections were recorded over the last 24-hours from 1,394 test, increasing the overall confirmed cases to 63,002.

The cases were recorded in: Region One (one case), Region Two (two cases), Region Four (16 cases), Region Six (three cases), Region Seven (one case) and Region Nine (eight cases).

There are currently seven patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 28 patients are in institutional isolation and 299 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 61, 445 people have recovered from the virus.
