DCB U-15 cricket: Spinners lead East Coast to huge victory over Upper Demerara
Led by their spinners, East Coast defeated Upper Demerara by 86 runs on Thursday as action continued in the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB)/Premier Insurance Under-15 Inter-Association competition at the Enmore ground.
Batting first, East Coast posted 123-7 from their 30 overs. The match was reduced from 50 overs because of overnight rain.
Trilok Nanan topscored with an unbeaten 22, while Aaron Kissoon made 17. Keron Phillips grabbed 3-13 and Croy Charles 2-23 for Upper Demerara.
In reply, Upper Demerara folded for just 37 in 10.5 overs as East Coast won by a huge margin.
Mickel Sharma, who picked up a six-wicket haul in the first game against Georgetown, was again impressive, claiming three wickets without conceding a run. Fellow spinner Aruna Gainda picked up 3-4, while seamer Gopaul Ramchand had 2-13.
The competition continues on Friday (March 4) with Georgetown facing Wst Demerara at the DCC ground, Queenstown, from 09:30h.
