Two men were on Monday sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for breaking into the Nirva Supermarket located on Sheriff Street, Georgetown, and carting off with over $700,000 worth in toys.
Brian Singh, 49, and Jermaine Manning, 37, were sentenced by Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
On November 8, 2021, the duo made their first court appearance and was remanded to prison to await sentencing. The pair had confessed that between November 2-3, 2021, they broke into the supermarket and stole a number of toys valued at $755,000.
The incident was caught on cameras that were inside the store.
