Two arrested after $6.5M of cocaine found at Guyhoc Park
Two men were arrested on Tuesday after 5.814 kg (12.8 pounds) of cocaine with a street value of $6.5 million was found in the vehicle they were travelling in.
Devon Simon, 43, of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Housing Scheme, West Ruimveldt, and Winston Hazel, 35, of Gibson Street, Tucville were intercepted during an operation in Guyhoc Park – Tucville area.
The operation was carried out by officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU).
CANU in a statement noted that the illegal drug was discovered in five parcels.
Investigations are ongoing.
