Two persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old overseas-based Guyanese man which occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday at Crabwood Creek, Upper Corentyne, Berbice.

Dead is Lakhan Chaterpal of Ohio, United States of America; he was stabbed to his lower abdomen during an altercation with three men following a party.

The News Room understands that the young man arrived in Guyana about a week ago to attend his brother’s wedding which took place on Sunday last at Grant 1802 Crabwood Creek.

Regional Commander Boodnarine Persaud told the News Room that investigators are on the hunt for the third suspect.

According to the Commander, Chaterpal was at a family party on Tuesday night and it continued well into Wednesday morning when the three suspects – who are not related to the family – showed up at the house.

As such, the family asked the three suspects to leave; they left but decided to damage a number of vehicles that were parked outside.

As a result, Chaterpal and the rest of the family confronted the men during which he was stabbed.

The three men then escaped and Lakhan was taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations are ongoing.

The young man did not realize that Guyanese are polite and prudish when sober. But many are braindead animals when drunk. So very unnecessary and NO they should not get manslaughter or plea bargain.

    BRING BACK HANGING!
