Woman found dead at seawall identified as Mercy’s IT manager

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 57-year-old Jennifer Sweetnam whose body was found on the Kingston Seawall behind the Marriott Hotel.

The woman’s body was discovered on March 3, 2022, but the police only released the information to the press on Wednesday, March 9.

An autopsy revealed that Sweetnam, of Bel Air, Georgetown, died as a result of drowning.

Police said she was last seen on March 2 at 16:30hrs at the St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital where she was employed as an Information Technology manager.

According to the police, relatives told investigations that the woman was suffering from depression for some time now.

“At the time of the discovery of the woman’s body, investigators found no marks of physical violence on her. However, it was not until today that she was identified” by her cousins, the police reported.
