John, Leung, Mendes and Dick top Diamond Mineral Water 50-mile race
Jamaul John continued his fine form on the saddle, winning the Open category of the annual Diamond Mineral Water 50-mile road race on Sunday on the West Demerara roadways.

Also emerging category winners of the 21st edition of the race, which attracted 41 riders, were Alexander Leung (Junior), Alex Mendes (Veteran) and Marica Dick (Female).
John of Team Foundation was the first to the finish line at Schoonord after starting at the same point and turning at Bushy Park, Parika. He clocked one hour, 39 minutes, 42 seconds.
Andre Greene took second spot, followed by Romello Crawford, Paul DeNobrega, Curtis Dey and Christopher Griffith in that order. Dey pocketed two of the six prime prizes on offer, while John, Greene, DeNobrega and Adelia Hodge took one apiece.
In the Junior category, Leung of We Stand United won from Sherwin Sampson (Team Alanis) and Adiani Cutting (Kaieteur Attack), while Mendes topped the Veteran division, leaving seasoned campaigners Robin Persaud and Junior Niles to settle for second and third respectively.
Clavicia Spencer was second to Dick in the Female race.
