Man, 75, dies from COVID; 3 new cases, 5 in ICU

Guyana has recorded another COVID-19 fatality increasing the country’s overall death toll to 1,225.

The victim is a 75-year-old man of Region Four who died on March 13. According to the Ministry of Health, he was partially vaccinated.

Now, five people would have died in March thus far. Meanwhile three new infections were recorded, increasing the total confirmed cases since March 11, 2020 to 63,147.

The new infections were recorded from: Region Two (one case), Region Four (one case) and Region Six (one case).

There are also five patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 13 people are in institutional isolation, six people are in institutional quarantine and 132 people are in home isolation.

And a total of 61,722 people have recovered after they were infected with the virus.
