NIS launches WhatsApp queries text box
The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) has launched the ‘WhatsApp Queries Text Box’ which will be used for texting queries regarding Claims, Benefits, Pensions and Records.
“This service will not facilitate regular phone or Whatsapp calls,” the NIS noted via a press release on Monday.
The service will be provided from Monday to Thursday between 8:00hrs to 16:30hrs and 8:00 hrs to 15:30hrs on Fridays. The following cell numbers were assigned to the service.

Persons using the service will be required to provide their names, NIS number and type of query. NIS said it remains committed to excellence and “therefore constantly seek ways to improve the quality of service provided.”
According to the release, “serving the growing contributors’ population is one of the greatest challenges of the Scheme. However, with the help new and available technologies, which include various social media platforms, NIS has an opportunity to overcome most of those challenges.”
