Fully vaccinated woman dies from COVID; 12 new cases recorded 

A fully vaccinated 83-year-old woman from Region Six (East Berbice – Corentyne) is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 death.

The Ministry of Health reported that the woman died on March 15, taking the total number of deaths recorded since March 2020 to 1, 226.

Her death also means that six people have died in March thus far.

Meanwhile, another 32 people recovered from the virus and an additional 12 new cases were recorded from 1, 738 tests. This means that a total of 63, 169 people have tested positive for COVID.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region Two (two cases), Region Three (three cases), Region Four (four cases), Region Five (two cases), and Region Six (one case).

There are five patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 15 patients are in institutional isolation and 151 patients are in home isolation.
