Siblings in custody after fight with drunken brother

An 18-year-old boy and his 21-year-old sister are in police custody after they reportedly stabbed their brother, Kemo Archer, 26, during a fight on Sunday night.

Police Headquarters reported that the siblings live together at Westminster, Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank of Demerara. The incident occurred between 19:20hrs and 20:40hrs on Sunday.

Police said Archer, a carpenter, went home intoxicated and got into an argument with his sister during which he allegedly hit her to the head with a plate.

The sister then stabbed Archer to his left hand with a piece of the broken plate; she dealt him several cuffs about his body and stabbed him to his shoulder with a scissors.

The 18-year-old then stabbed Archer with a Rambo knife to his left arm and abdomen. Police said Archer fell to the ground and the police were contacted.

The siblings were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where they were treated and sent away.

The brother and sister were later taken to the Parfaite Harmonie Police Station.
