Active COVID cases move to 125; 1 in ICU

Guyana now has 125 active COVID-19 cases countrywide after 10 new cases were recorded within the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The new infections were recorded in Region Four (four cases), Region Five (one case) and Region Six (five cases).

And with these cases, the total number of confirmed cases since March 11, 2020 has increased to 63,218. Importantly, though, no additional deaths were recorded; as such, the overall death toll remained at 1,226.

There is only one patient receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU); 14 people are in institutional isolation, 25 people are in institutional quarantine and 100 people are in home isolation.

Additionally, other 12 people who were infected have now recovered; a total of 61,877 recovered since March 2020.
