Chicago Fire FC on Thursday announced that the Club has signed Guyana National Team winger Omari Glasgow to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract, pending league and US. Soccer Federation approval and receipt of his ITC and P1 visa.
Glasgow is under contract through the 2023 season, with a Club option for 2024. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Omari is a quick winger who has the quality to make an impact with the first team in the coming seasons,” said Chicago Fire FC Technical Director Sebastian Pelzer.
“He has an understanding of the game that can project at the MLS level and we look forward to continuing his development.”
Glasgow, 18, joins the Fire from Western Tigers in the Guyanese first division. Internationally, he has represented Guyana at the senior, Under-20 and Under-17 age levels.
Glasgow has earned four caps for the Guyana senior team, most recently participating in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Bahamas (4-0), St. Kitts and Nevis (0-3) and Puerto Rico (0-2).

“During his trial, Omari quickly demonstrated the ability to contribute to our squad immediately in MLS NEXT Pro with his pace and understanding of the game.”
Glasgow will occupy an international slot on the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro roster.
