Labourer critical after stabbed multiple times by tenant
A 53-year-old labourer of Parika Façade, East Bank Essequibo, is in a critical condition at the West Demerara Regional Hospital after he was stabbed multiple times by a tenant.
Christopher Kingston was stabbed at about 01:30hrs on Friday. Police Headqaurters reported that Kingston is also a tenant; he and the suspect are renting apartments in the area.
Police said the suspect went home in an intoxicated state and “was using a series of expletives at the top of his voice.”
Kingston then told the suspect to desist because he [Kingston] was tired and was trying sleep.
The suspect became annoyed and an argument ensued between the two during which the suspect armed himself with a knife and stabbed Kingston several times about his body.
An alarm was raised and the police were summoned; they immediately rushed Kingston to the Leonora Cottage Hospital and he was later transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing as the suspect remains in hiding.
