The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) has named a strong eight-member team to compete at the Pan American Championship in Guatemala from April 3-9.
Alex Arjoon and Nicolette Fernandes will lead the respective teams, and both are confident they have the quality in talent and preparation to achieve the ultimate objective – qualify for the Central American and Caribbean Games.
Arjoon, in particular, highlighted that it is potentially a great opportunity for Guyana to excel as they have prepared well, and maybe not a lot of the other nations competing would have been able to get such quality preparation due to the pandemic.
Fernandes echoed Arjoon’s sentiments and thanked the sponsors for their overwhelming support in getting them to the important event.
Those sponsors include the Guyana Olympic Association, the National Sports Commission, Cosmetics Beauty World, Modern Optical, John Fernandes Limited and Excel Guyana Inc.
