Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, with thumping wins in their opening games, will clash this evening to break the deadlock in the three-team Courts Caribbean Classic, also featuring Barbados.

The friendly international competition is being used by the three nations to prepare for their forthcoming Concacaf Nations League B fixtures in June.

While Trinidad’s Soca Warriors started with a crushing 9-0 success over Barbados, Guyana’s Golden Jaguars inflicted a 5-0 drubbing on the hapless Bajans.

Playing at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad on Sunday evening, the Jaguars maintained their stranglehold on Barbados, who have not tasted success against the Guyanese since 1999.

Eighteen-year Omari Glasgow, who recently gained an MLS NEXT Pro contract with Chicago Fire FC, was on target twice for Guyana, scoring on either side of the half in the 41st and 61st minutes.

Defender Quincy Adams, in the 12th minute, headed home Guyana’s first goal, while Pernell Schultz doubled the lead in the 37th minute, which meant Guyana was up 3-0 by the half.

Neil Danns celebrated a return to national duties with a successful conversion in the 49th.
