Farmer, Chef injured during fight at Waramadong Village

A 27-year-old farmer identified as Young Williams and a 61-year-old chef, Lykie Kramer are both nursing injuries at the Kamarang Public Hospital following an altercation at Waramadong Village, Upper Mazaruni.

Police said both men are being investigated for alleged unlawful wounding.

According to the police, Williams and Kramer are known to each other and at the time of the incident on Sunday, they were imbibing.

They reportedly got into a heated argument at about 18:00hrs which led to Williams cuffing Kramer to his face.

Kramer retaliated by stabbing Williams with a knife to his chest and abdomen.

As a result, the injured Williams reportedly managed to pick up a piece of wood and dealt Kramer several lashes to his head and body; he suffered a fractured arm.

Both men were then were rushed to the Kamarang Public Hospital where they are being treated and their conditions are listed as stable.
