Seven new COVID-19 cases were reported by the Ministry of Health on Thursday with four persons currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Infectious Diseases Hospital.
The new cases were reported in Region Four (four cases) and Region Six (three cases).
In the report, the Ministry of Health notes that Guyana’s active COVID-19 cases have dropped to 78. The new cases were recorded from 1,399 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases since March 2020 to 63, 253.
Meanwhile, eight patients are in institutional isolation and 66 patients are in home isolation. No additional deaths were recorded, as such the death toll remained at 1, 226.
To date, 61, 949 people have recovered.
