Holder impresses as Super Giants keep Sunrisers winless

Lucknow Super Giants kept Sunrisers Hyderabad winless after the two games in IPL 2022, winning their clash on Monday by 12 runs.

KL Rahul, with 68 off 50 balls, and Deepak Hooda, with 51 off 33, spurred Super Giants to 169-7.

It proved a total good enough, as Thangarasu Natarajan (2-26), Washington Sundar (2-28) and Romario Shepherd (2-42) were among the wickets.

Sunrisers seemed on course for victory with 33 needed off the last three overs, but Jason Holder picked up three wickets in the final over as they fell short at 157-9. Sunrisers needed 16 off the final six balls, but only got three singles.

Holder finished with 3-34, but it was Avesh Khan who dented the top and middle-order with 4-24 and Krunal Pandya took 2-27 who did the early damage.

Rahul Tripathi topscored with 44 and Nicholas Pooran made 34.

IPL action continues on Tuesday with Royal Challengers Bangalore playing Rajasthan Royals from 10:00h.
