Only one new COVID-19 infection has been recorded over a 24-hour period, after 213 tests were done, the Ministry of Health reported in its daily COVID-19 dashboard on Monday.
The new case was recorded in Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica).
The total number of confirmed cases since March 11, 2020 has now increased to 63,273. Importantly, though, no additional deaths were recorded. As such, the overall death toll remained at 1,226.
There are also four patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), seven people in institutional isolation, eight people in institutional quarantine and 68 people in home isolation.
There were five additional recoveries; as such, the total number of people recovered remains at 61, 967.
