Police in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are investigating the death of Chatterpaul ‘Quarry’ Budhiprasad, a 68-year-old homeless man.
Budhiprasad was discovered dead with burn scars about his body early on Thursday at Wales, West Bank Demerara, Police Headquarters reported in a statement.
The man was last seen alive at about 20:00hrs on Wednesday when his nephew took food for him.
Police said he was found in a sitting position on a mattress with burns on his left side buttock, hand, and leg.
“Reports are that the man usually smokes and would be seen lighting various items at the abandoned stand where he normally sleeps,” the police reported.
The body is presently at the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
