Two Americans were arrested on Sunday after it was discovered that they handed over a forged PCR test to airline officials at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

Police said the man and woman were scheduled to depart on Caribbean Airlines flight BW526 for the JFK International Airport.

“They proceeded to the check-in point and handed over their PCR test results from the Sheriff Medical Centre which showed negative.

“It was then examined and suspected to have being forged. The airport representative made contact with Sheriff Medical Centre and was informed that the results were indeed forged,” Police headquarters stated.

They were immediately handed over to the police, where they were arrested and later placed on bail as the Police investigations continue.
