Eight cases from 1,357 COVID tests

Another eight people were infected with the novel coronavirus over a 24-hour period, after 1,357 tests were done, the Ministry of Health reported in its daily COVID-19 dashboard on Thursday.

The new cases were recorded in Region Four (four cases), Region Six (two cases) and Region 10 (two cases).

The total number of confirmed cases since March 11, 2020 has now increased to 63,340 Importantly, though, no additional deaths were recorded. As such, the overall death toll remained at 1,226.

There are now two patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU); nine people are in institutional isolation, 15 people are in institutional quarantine and 98 people in home isolation.

There were eight additional recoveries; as such, the total number of people recovered increased to 62,005.
