The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) New Amsterdam’s Integrated Regional Tax Office has been relocated to a new, spacious location at Ferry Street and Esplanade Road.

The modern and spanking facility includes well-spaced departments to provide compliances, estate duty, mortgage interest relief, trade and miscellaneous licences, objection and appeal, registration for Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), processing of drivers and motor vehicle licences services.

Taxpayers can also benefit from information, assistance, advice, and support through tax advisory services at the facility and the compound space has a designated area to facilitate vehicle examination.

GRA in a press release on Tuesday noted that the new location is an outcome of the agency’s embarking on a major enhanced service delivery programme that includes general upgrading and planned construction of regional offices.

The office is said to join the list of other IRTOs that have benefited from upgrades/renovations in recent years, notably in Mabaruma, Region One; Parika Region Three; Bartica, Region Seven; Corriverton, Region Six and Linden, Region 10.

The press release noted that the upgrading of GRA properties will also see the construction of the State’s Warehouse at Eccles and the overhauling of the Customs Boathouse at Stabroek.

Further, with anticipated economic growth in Region Six, the old GRA office at Strand, New Amsterdam, is being retrofitted to house a regional Law Enforcement and Investigation Division Office.
