New $220M GRA Licence Office for Smyth and Princess Streets

Reconstruction of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) Licence Revenue Office located at Smyth and Princess Streets, Georgetown has recommenced.

The estimated cost of this new facility is $220M and is expected to be completed within the first half of 2023, GRA said in a press release on Tuesday.

The modern facility will provide all licences and motor vehicle related transactions and is expected to offer a more efficient and comfortable office space for both staff and taxpayers.

The reconstruction of the old licence office is to support the expansion of GRA’s operations and offer more effective and efficient systems and services to the General Public, the release noted.

GRA’s Licence Office operations were relocated to the GRA Parking Lot at Lamaha Railway Embankment, Georgetown in December 2021.

The temporary office facilitates registration, transfer, and examination of various categories of motor vehicles. While other services, such as the issuance of driver’s and miscellaneous licences are processed at the GRA Headquarters, Camp Street.

The agency reminded that payments for services provided by the Licence Revenue Office can be facilitated through Mobile Money Guyana (MMG), Bill Express and urged customers to utilize the internet/online bill payment services available at Demerara Bank, Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry and Republic Bank.
