The man who was found dead in a clump of bushes at Richmond Housing Scheme on the Essequibo Coast on Tuesday has been identified as Ravi known as ‘Labaria’ and the police in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) are calling on his relatives to officially come forward and identify the body.

The News Room earlier reported that his body was discovered at around 07:00hrs by a passerby.

The News Room understands that Ravi is well-known in the community as he would usually roam the streets daily.

A resident identified as Tulsieram Monilall told the police that he knew the deceased for over nine years and he last saw him on Monday night at around 19:00hrs.

Monilall claimed that he was inside his house when he heard a loud noise in the yard and upon investigating, he saw Ravi using the toilet after which he (Ravi) fell down on the concrete surface.

Monilall further claimed that he picked up Ravi from off the ground and placed him to sit on the veranda and gave him a bottle of water. The resident claimed that he went back inside his house and at around 07:00hrs the following day, he saw a large crowd gathered outside.
