Man stabs teen son to death in Region One; another critically injured


Police are searching for Nigel Abraham, 30, who allegedly stabbed his foster son to death at Black Water, North West District in Region One (Barima-Waini) on Sunday.

Dead is 17-year-old Daniel Wilson; Ron Moonsammy, the cousin of the victim, is also in a critical condition at the Mabaruma Hospital after he too was stabbed when he intervened.

Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred at about 22:00hrs, while the three men were imbibing and an argument ensued. It is alleged that the foster father took a knife and viscously stabbed the young man.

Moonsammy intervened and tried to save his cousin, 19, but the suspect reportedly turned on him with the knife and stabbed him in the chest.

Moonsammy was rushed to the Mabaruma Public Hospital in a critical condition and was medevaced to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

The body of the deceased (Daniel Wilson) is presently lying at the Mabaruma Hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
