Mechanic shot, robbed after returning home from Easter outing

Police are on the hunt for a gunman who shot and robbed a 41-year-old mechanic on Monday night at Phase 1 ‘B’ Wisroc, Wismar Housing Scheme in Region Ten.

A report from Police Headquarters stated that Delon Hope and his family had just returned from an Easter event at around 22:00hrs when the suspect attacked them in the yard with a gun and demanded valuables.

The victim refused when the suspect shot him to his left thigh and pulled off the victim’s chain and ring. He then made good his escape on foot in a western direction.

The victim was later escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and admitted as a patient in a stable condition.

The wedding ring is valued at $120,000 while the gold chain is valued at $300,000. Investigations are ongoing.
