Dhawan hits 88* as Kings XI hand Super Kings sixth defeat
Kings XI Punjab defeated Chennai Super Kings by 11 runs in Match 38 of the IPL on Monday. With their fourth win in eight games, Kings XI moved to sixth, while Super Kings’ sixth loss in eight games has kept them grounded at ninth in the 10-team League.
Shikhar Dhawan batted through the innings, hitting an unbeaten 88 off 59 balls, to spur Kings XI to 187-4. Bhanuka Rajapaksa supported with 42 off 32.
Dwayne Bravo took 2-42 for Chennai Super Kings, who were held to 176-6.
Ambati Rayudu led the way with 78 off 39, while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored. Bowling for Kings XI, Kagiso Rabada and Rishi Dhawan took two wickets each.
IPL action continues on Tuesday with Royal Challengers Bangalore playing Rajasthan Royals from 10:00h.
