Gujarat Titans surged to the top of the IPL points table in spectacular fashion, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in Match 40 on Wednesday.
Chasing 199 for victory, Titans needed 56 off the last four overs and Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia did it in commanding fashion. With 22 required off the last over, the pair combined to hit four sixes off Marco Jansen to seal victory off the final ball.
Tewatia finished on 40 off 21 (4x4s, 2x6s) and Rashid ended on 31 off 11 (4x6s). Earlier, opener Wriddiman Saha made 68 off 38 (11x4s, 1×6) and Umran Malik impressed with pace and wickets again, taking 5-25 to claim the Man-of-the-Match award.
Sunrisers’ 195-6 was built on 65 off 42 (6x4s, 3x6s) from opener Abhishek Sharma and 56 from 40 (2x4s, 3x6s) from Aiden Markram, while Shashank Singh finished off the innings with 25* off six balls.
Mohammed Shami took 3-39.
