North Sophia man wanted for murder

The Guyana Police Force has issued a wanted bulletin for Denzil Haynes, 24, in relation to the murder of 27-year-old Yardan Jacobs.

Police Headquarters reported that Haynes’ last known address is Lot ‘T’ 67, North Sophia, Greater Georgetown.

If seen or anyone who has information about the whereabouts of Haynes, please contact the police on, 227-1149, 226-6978, 225-8196, 911 or the nearest police station.

All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.

Jacobs, labourer, died two weeks after he was shot during an argument in North Sophia. He was shot to his lower right side back.

Police had reported that Jacobs and his 29-year-old cousin, Steve Bacchus were liming with some friends at the Tanary Area in North Sophia when Jacobs got into an argument with an identifiable male on April 16.

Bacchus reportedly intervened during the argument when the suspect discharged several rounds in the direction of the men.

Bacchus received a gunshot wound to his upper right side abdomen.
