A total of eight new COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday from a total of 882 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases since March 2020 to 63,465.
Five cases were recorded in Region Four (Demerara – Mahaica) while two cases were recorded in Region Six (East Berbice – Corentyne) and one case was recorded in Region Nine (Upper Takutu – Upper Essequibo).
There are 96 patients in home isolation and for the third consecutive day, there are zero persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
To date, 62,141 people have recovered and 1,228 have died from the virus.
