Albion Cricket Club saddened by tragic death of Permaul’s mother

The President, Executives and Members of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club have expressed deep sadness at the tragic death of Waynmattie Permaul also known as ‘Dataley’, the mother of Albion, Berbice, Guyana and West Indies cricketer Veerasammy Permaul.

“The news of Waynmattie Permaul’s death is very depressing and we at the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club would like to express our sincere condolences to her family, especially her children Veerasammy, Veerapen, Shelly and Debby,” the Club said in a statement.

Apart from Veerasammy, Veerapen had also represented Albion at all levels and Berbice and Guyana at the youth level.

The statement continued: “Although death is inevitable, it is never easy to lose a loved one. However, we must console ourselves that God knows best, and re-adjust our minds to embrace such situations. We pray that God will grant comfort to the bereaved family during this very difficult period and may the soul of the deceased RIP.”
